A new royal controversy has emerged between King Charles and Prince William, as detailed by author Omid Scobie in his latest book.
In his controversial work titled “Endgame,” Scobie suggests a growing tension between the two royals, with claims that have been met with skepticism by royal experts and insiders.
Scobie alleges in his book that a power struggle for the spotlight exists between Charles and William, especially intensifying since Charles assumed the throne.
According to Business Insider, Scobie highlights instances such as William’s significant interview following his Prince of Wales appointment coinciding with Charles’ trooping the Colour Parade, seemingly overshadowing the latter’s momentous occasion.
Expressing his perspective before the book’s release, Scobie emphasized the significance of focusing on substantial royal narratives rather than trivial dramas surrounding other family members.
He pointed out an apparent rift between Charles and William that he believes is unfolding discreetly within the monarchy.
However, critics within royal circles have dismissed Scobie’s claims as baseless conspiracy theories masquerading as factual revelations.
One source mentioned that while critiquing the royal family is acceptable as freedom of expression, propagating unfounded theories under the guise of truth is misleading and harmful, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Renowned royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams criticized Scobie’s narrative, labeling it as an attempt to undermine the monarchy by portraying William as overly ambitious for the throne.
Originally slated for an August release, “Endgame” was delayed to incorporate developments surrounding the king’s upcoming coronation, indicating its potential impact on public discourse.
Publisher HarperCollins has teased that the book promises to spark global discussions, already making waves with its controversial claims.
Among these assertions is Scobie’s mention of Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, allegedly snubbing Meghan alongside Princess Kate at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
The book, released on November 28, portrays Sophie, alongside other senior royals, displaying a cold demeanor towards Meghan during the solemn event.
