In a shocking revelation, a royal aide has spilled the beans on Meghan Markle’s alleged demand for Prince Harry to sell a precious pearl necklace given to her by the First Lady of Fiji.
However, the palace has reportedly sealed this information from the public eye.
During their whirlwind royal tour of Australasia, the newlyweds, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wonders of Fiji.
Alongside market visits and kava ceremonies, the royal couple also had the honor of meeting with First Lady Siroti Konroti, who presented Meghan with a breathtaking pearl necklace.
As part of the official welcome, the First Lady of Fiji, Siroti Faga Konroti, bestowed upon Meghan a stunning 18-inch pearl necklace adorned with 37 high-grade, naturally multicolored pearls.
These exquisite pearls, sourced from the renowned J Hunter Pearls, showcased a mesmerizing range of colors, from shimmering greens to magnificent bronzes, brilliant blues to gunmetal greys.
The pearls, originating from the Savu Savu region, are considered one of the world’s rarest, sought after by pearl connoisseurs globally.
Ms. Hunter, speaking to the Fiji Sun, emphasized that the necklace perfectly embodied the Fijian government’s role in the 2017 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP23.
However, upon returning to their residence, Meghan was informed by royal staffers that she was not allowed to keep the necklace.
This news may have caused Meghan’s frustration to reach boiling point, perhaps resulting in some shattered plates reminiscent of a Greek wedding.
The staffers likely had to remind her that there were photographs taken and cautioned against attempting to take them, as she had done during a previous photoshoot.
Rumors suggest that Meghan insisted on keeping the gift and even contemplated selling their jewelry wedding gifts to secure financial stability after their decision to step back from royal duties, commonly referred to as “Megxit.”
Unfortunately for Meghan, the late Queen intervened, banning her from accessing the jewelry, including this magnificent necklace.
If Meghan had managed to keep it, there is no doubt that she would have worn it with pride.
However, her collection of jewels is limited to the earrings and bracelet from her previous marriage, the latter of which she wears as a constant reminder of her former husband’s generosity.
It is important to note that gifts received during official visits, such as this one, belong to the royal family as representatives of the British monarchy.
Even wedding gifts cannot be sold unless they were specifically designated as personal gifts.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that Meghan is not planning to sell any of her possessions to support her family.
While she may be influencing Harry’s financial decisions, her own treasures remain solely for her enjoyment.
In another intriguing development, Prince Harry reportedly sold a handmade item gifted to him by his grandfather, Prince Philip.
Although there may be no qualms about his decision to give up hunting, the items should have been returned to his grandfather or kept within the family, perhaps by gifting them to a nephew or cousin.
It is striking how their lifestyle has always revolved around Harry sacrificing or altering aspects to accommodate Meghan’s desires.
