Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have embarked on a new chapter in the United States following the divorce of their parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew.
The Duchess of York recently addressed attendees at a Help and Hope Alliance charity event held in Palm Beach, Florida.
Known as Royal Pancakes, the event showcased the royal family’s journey to a fresh start in a different land.
Expressing her gratitude as the keynote speaker, Fergie extended her heartfelt thanks to the American community for their unwavering support when she made the life-altering decision to relocate from the UK to the U.S. back in 1995 after parting ways with the Royal Family.
Reflecting on her transformative experience, the Duchess shared, “I want to express my gratitude to the American people for granting me a second chance at life.
I always carry a handkerchief with me as I tend to get emotional.
Your generosity not only revitalized my life but also provided my children with new opportunities.
Leaving England behind, I found solace in America, secured employment, and it’s all thanks to your kindness.”
Having resided in the United States for over a decade post her separation from Prince Andrew, Fergie conveyed a message of hope to those grappling with adversity.
She dismissed any notions of impossibility, asserting, “For those feeling despondent or doubtful, remember that anything is achievable.
Such beliefs are mere fallacies.”
The Duchess’s resilience shone through as she disclosed her recent battle with skin cancer, emphasizing the importance of fostering hope in a world plagued by uncertainties.
Amidst a wave of health concerns within the Royal Family, including Princess Kate’s surgical procedure and King Charles’s cancer diagnosis following treatment for an enlarged prostate, Ferguson acknowledged the outpouring of support from the public.
She expressed her gratitude, stating, “I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who have stood by my family during these trying times.
Let us collectively rally behind those facing challenges, offering them our unwavering support.
In times of hardship, may we all find solace and strength to persevere.”
A staunch advocate of the United States, the Duchess has previously professed her affection for the country in various interviews.
Recounting her post-divorce years spent authoring books during a fruitful 12-year stint in America, she reminisced, “Following my separation, America became a sanctuary where I flourished creatively.
It was a liberating experience that instilled a sense of freedom within me.
