Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, members of the British royal family, may be in line for advancement based on their royal titles, according to a royal observer.
Despite not holding senior positions within the royal family currently, the decision by the Princesses of York to retain their queen’s titles has drawn attention.
Royal writer Gareth Russell, in an exclusive interview with GB News, highlighted the significance of Beatrice and Eugenie’s choice to maintain their birthright titles.
This decision, as Russell pointed out, indicates a commitment to their royal status and suggests a readiness to embrace roles as working royals.
Russell, author of the book “The Palace: From Tudors to Windsors, 500 Years of History at Hampton Court,” emphasized that the princesses were never intended to be active members of the royal family.
He noted that there has been no indication from either of the York princesses expressing a desire to take on official royal duties.
The fact that Beatrice, 35, and Eugenie, 33, have chosen to uphold their royal titles contrasts with the approach of other royal family members, such as Princess Anne, who relinquished her royal title for the sake of her children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tyndall.
In a departure from tradition, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, opted not to bestow the titles of Prince and Princess upon their children.
Instead, Lady Louisa Windsor, 20, and James, Earl of Wessex, 15, were given different titles.
Despite being born as princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie lost their taxpayer-funded police protection in 2011 due to the unlikelihood of them becoming active working royals.
However, recent developments, including the stepping back of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Duke of York from official royal duties, have sparked speculation that King Charles might involve Beatrice and Eugenie more prominently in royal affairs.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry made a light-hearted appearance at the American Football Awards ceremony without mentioning his father’s health issues.
The Duke of Sussex attended the event to present the Walter Payton NFL Person of the Year award and entertained the audience with jokes comparing rugby to American football.
Prince Harry’s humorous remarks, delivered in Las Vegas, Nevada, ahead of the upcoming Super Bowl, showcased his wit and charm.
Reportedly, Prince Harry flew to Las Vegas immediately after a brief visit to Los Angeles, where he had a short meeting with King Charles.
During his speech at the awards ceremony, Prince Harry playfully teased about the differences between rugby and American football, suggesting changes to the game format in a lighthearted manner.
Despite the jests, Prince Harry commended the athletes for their exemplary conduct both on and off the field, acknowledging their positive influence on millions of people.
