A recent heatwave in the UK has come to an end, but not before the royal family found a perfect way to cool down – by taking a dip in their own private swimming pools.
While these hidden gems may have gone unnoticed by many, they are a cherished feature in the homes of the royals.
Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the late Queen, boasts a private indoor swimming pool that has long been a favorite spot for the entire royal family.
Senior members such as Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, frequently make use of this luxurious amenity.
However, members of the Staff Sports Club are also granted access, as long as it doesn’t clash with the royals’ swimming schedule.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Catherine, reportedly have their own swimming pool at Anmer Hall, their country retreat on the Sandringham Estate.
This facility provides the perfect setting for the family to enjoy a swim with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, during weekends and holidays.
Additionally, when in London, they often visit the swimming pool at Buckingham Palace, where the children received swimming lessons when they were younger.
In a surprising turn of events, the Prince and Princess of Wales recently shared a never-before-seen video from their trip to the Bahamas last year.
The footage shows the royal couple fully equipped in scuba diving gear, taking part in aquatic activities and exploring the ocean bed.
They even took part in a unique experience, snorkeling around the beautiful reefs and contributing to the planting of new coral.
Although the exact date of the video remains unknown, it is believed to have been filmed during their eight-day tour to the Caribbean in March 2022.
The couple released the video to showcase their collaboration with Coral Vida, the winner of the 2021 Earthshot Prize, and their efforts in farming and planting coral in the Bahamas.
Prince William opted for a rash vest and blue swim trunks, while Princess Catherine donned a black wetsuit with cropped shorts and sleeves.
Matching flippers helped her glide through the water effortlessly, and she tied her dark hair into a low ponytail to prevent it from interfering with her snorkel and mask.
Interestingly, fans couldn’t help but notice that she continued to wear her iconic diamond and sapphire engagement ring on her left hand, a piece of jewelry that previously belonged to Princess Diana.
While the video received widespread praise for their inspiring work, some viewers expressed surprise at Catherine’s decision to wear the valuable ring while snorkeling.
One user even zoomed in on her left hand and commented that they wouldn’t dare dive with such an iconic piece of jewelry for fear of losing it.
However, other followers speculated that the ring might be a replica or that Catherine may have copies for traveling or activities that require more physical exertion.
In addition to showcasing their underwater adventures, the video also captured Prince William and Catherine planting corals.
The future king spoke to the camera while near the couple’s location in the waters, providing insights into their conservation efforts.
The royal couple’s dedication to environmental causes has not gone unnoticed, with Prince William attending this year’s awards in Singapore alone.
Nevertheless, the video serves as a testament to their shared commitment to preserving marine ecosystems and their willingness to get hands-on in the process.
