Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has made her first Instagram post since revealing her shocking cancer diagnosis.
After being diagnosed with skin cancer for the second time, she took to social media to share her thoughts and raise awareness.
The announcement came nearly three weeks ago, stating that Sarah had been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer, during her treatment for breast cancer.
Returning from a short holiday in Austria, the Duchess of York is now back in Windsor, surrounded by her beloved family and friends.
Last week, she released a brief statement about her diagnosis, but yesterday, she used social media to shed light on another important issue.
In honor of LGBTQ Plus History Month, Sarah posted a photo featuring seven rainbow headbands adorned with multicolored gemstones.
The vibrant headbands were displayed on a marble countertop, creating a striking visual.
Captioning the post, Sarah wrote, “Hey, it’s LGBTQ Plus History Month.
I’m wearing my rainbow headbands today.
In honor of the 2024 theme, Under the Scope.
Your hard work and leadership in this area, which comes with injustice and inequality, is incredibly valuable and deserves the utmost appreciation.
Thank you to all the professionals, leaders, and aspiring leaders who dedicate their lives to it.”
In a previous Instagram post, the Duchess had mentioned her recent health struggles.
She revealed, “I have taken some time for myself as I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer.
This is my second cancer diagnosis within a year, following my battle with breast cancer.
Fortunately, the melanoma was discovered early thanks to the vigilance of my dermatologist.
While another cancer diagnosis was unexpected, I remain in good spirits and am grateful for the outpouring of love and support.”
Sarah Ferguson’s openness about her health challenges serves as a reminder of the importance of regular check-ups and early detection.
