Amidst the ongoing rift between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the royal family, an unexpected development has ignited hope for reconciliation.
According to a royal expert, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, could potentially play a crucial role in bridging the divide.
Ferguson, who was recently welcomed back into the fold during the Christmas festivities, made a rare appearance alongside her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, and the rest of the royals on their traditional walk to St Mary Magdalene Church.
This marked the first time in 32 years that she was allowed to join the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.
For years, Ferguson had been excluded from royal engagements and private events due to the late Prince Philip’s strong disapproval, stemming from various scandals and her subsequent split from Andrew, including the infamous 1992 toe-sucking incident.
However, King Charles’ recent gesture of acceptance has raised hopes for a possible reconciliation between Harry, Meghan, and the royal family.
Royal expert Jenny Bond described Ferguson’s reappearance as a turning point, stating, “If Sarah can be welcomed back after 30 years, hope is never lost for a reconciliation between father and son.
We know that Eugenie has maintained a close relationship with Harry, perhaps Sarah could act as a mentor to help him reconcile with his father.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been estranged from the royal family since they stepped down from their royal duties and relocated to the United States in 2020.
Throughout this period, the couple has made various claims against the royals, leading experts to believe that the rift would only deepen.
However, Bond believes that Charles’ recent gesture exemplifies his commitment to practicing what he preaches.
She explained, “If he tells us all to treat others as we would wish to be treated, then it is helpful if we see him extending friendship and forgiveness to Sarah.
And it does suggest that all is not lost with Harry and Meghan.”
In a hopeful twist, Bond speculated that Charles may have reached out to Harry and his grandchildren in California during the Christmas festivities.
While this remains unconfirmed, it leaves room for optimism regarding a potential reconciliation.
