Renowned tennis player Serena Williams has refuted claims made by Meghan Markle, stating that she was merely an acquaintance of the former Suits star.

Vanity Fair writer, Summer Kashiner, reported that Williams had provided her with a list of her friends during a previous interview.

However, when Kashiner reached out to Williams, who was on the list, she denied any friendship with Meghan.

Upon answering the calls, Serena Williams allegedly referred to Meghan as an acquaintance and advised her to be true to herself, saying, “You’ve got to be who you are, Meghan, you can’t hide.”

Despite their previous close friendship, various factors led to the deterioration of their relationship, prompting Serena to completely disassociate herself from Meghan.
