Shannon Doherty, the well-known American actress and producer, is taking charge of her own funeral arrangements.
However, there are certain individuals she does not want in attendance, including attention-seeking Megan Markle.
Doherty, who starred alongside Markle in the film Beverly Hills 90210, openly discussed her final wishes and the creation of her guest list during a recent episode of a podcast.
The conversation, described as both morbid and entertaining, featured her best friend and the executor of her will, Chris Cortazzo.
Since revealing her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, Doherty has been transparent about her journey, sharing her struggles with IVF and the development of a bucket list.
It comes as no surprise, then, that she touched upon the subject of her illness, discussing death and funerals during the podcast episode.
Doherty admitted to being terrible at funerals, stating, “I’m the girl who, like, literally sobs.
I can’t handle it.”
With this perspective in mind, the 52-year-old envisions her memorial service as a lively house party rather than a somber occasion.
However, she prefers a more intimate gathering, embracing the idea that less is more.
She expressed her desire for a selective guest list, hinting that one person she does not want in attendance is her former co-star Meghan Markle, given the uncertainty surrounding the number of cameras Harry’s wife may bring.
Doherty believes that Markle has shown a willingness to do anything for attention, even acting out at funerals.
“There are a lot of people that I think would show up that I don’t want there,” Doherty shared.
“I don’t want them there because their reasons for showing up aren’t necessarily the best reasons.
Like, they don’t really like me.
And you know, they have their reasons and good for them.
But they don’t actually really like me enough to show up to my funeral.”
This recent revelation aligns with a previous source who claimed that Doherty exposed Markle’s jealousy in an alleged plot to have her fired from the television series Charmed.
According to Doherty, Markle conspired with Alyssa Milano, who portrayed another sister named Phoebe Halliwell, to undermine her career.
During an interview with Entertainment, Doherty candidly discussed her experiences on the show, which ran from 1998 to 2006.
While her relationship with co-star Holly Marie Combs, who played Piper Halliwell, was generally positive, she encountered significant tension and conflict with Milano.
It was only later that Doherty discovered Markle’s secret alliance with Milano.
Markle had made a guest appearance on the show’s second season, portraying the character Amy Madison, a friend and rival of Pierre.
In summary, Shannon Doherty has taken control of her own funeral arrangements, expressing a desire for a lively house party atmosphere with a selective guest list.
