Former SNL cast member and star of Barbie, Kate McKinnon, made a triumphant return to Saturday Night Live as the host, delivering a brutal sketch that mercilessly mocked Meghan Markle and her royal drama.
Known for her spot-on impressions of celebrities and politicians, McKinnon portrayed Markle in a parody of The Crown, depicting her as a manipulative and greedy woman who used Prince Harry for fame and fortune.
The sketch kicked off with McKinnon’s Markle introducing herself as Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, but cheekily adding, “You can call me Princess.”
She announced her plans to share her side of the story in a documentary series called The Scheme.
From there, she proceeded to narrate her life as a royal, exaggerating her hardships, achievements, and poking fun at other members of the royal family.
McKinnon’s Markle claimed to have endured racism, sexism, and abuse from the media, the public, and even the royals themselves.
She asserted that she had sacrificed everything for love, giving up her acting career, friends, family, and country.
According to her, she was confined to a dungeon in Windsor Castle, deprived of privacy, freedom, and any semblance of fun.
Not one to shy away from boasting, McKinnon’s Markle also took credit for inspiring millions, changing the world, and making history.
She bragged about creating a global brand, a media empire, and a humanitarian foundation, declaring herself the most influential and powerful woman on the planet.
But it didn’t end there.
McKinnon’s Markle went on to mock the other royals, particularly Prince Harry, whom she referred to as her “little ginger puppet.”
She claimed to have manipulated and controlled him, stripping him of his title, family, and country.
According to her, she had transformed him from a prince into a mere loser, bending him to her will.
The sketch didn’t spare Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and even Prince Andrew.
McKinnon’s Markle hurled insults and derogatory names at them, branding them as old, boring, irrelevant, and corrupt.
She alleged that they had tried to hinder her and Harry’s happiness but proudly declared victory, outsmarting and outshining them, and revealing their true colors.
The sketch concluded with McKinnon’s Markle reveling in her newfound freedom and happiness.
She boasted of having everything she ever desired—a loving husband, two beautiful children, a mansion in California, millions of fans, followers, and dollars.
In her eyes, she was living the dream and the true queen.
The sketch quickly gained traction on social media, with people praising McKinnon’s return to SNL and her hilarious portrayal of Markle.
Some applauded the roast, believing Markle deserved it due to her actions and behavior.
However, there were also voices defending Markle, claiming the sketch was unfair and mean-spirited, arguing that she didn’t deserve to be mocked.
As for Markle herself, she has remained silent regarding the sketch, and her representatives have declined to comment.
Currently residing in California with Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Lillibet, Markle continues to face backlash following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In the interview, she accused the royal family and the British media of racism and mistreatment.
