The highly acclaimed television series, Suits, has made a remarkable comeback, captivating millions of fans after its re-release on Netflix on June 17th.
Lead stars Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Mack, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres recently reunited at the prestigious Golden Globe Awards.
The show, which originally premiered on USA in 2011, shattered streaming records, becoming the most-watched acquired programming on Nielsen during the week of June 26th to July 2nd, with an astonishing 3.1 billion viewing minutes.
During the event on January 7th, Patrick, Gabriel, Sarah, and Gina took to the stage not as co-stars, but as presenters.
They announced the winner for Outstanding Drama Series, which turned out to be the HBO hit Succession.
While on stage, the stars playfully joked about the category being announced late in the program.
Gabriel amusingly addressed the audience, stating, “There’s nothing more dramatic or anxiety-inducing than waiting all night to hear that your category has finally arrived.”
Patrick chimed in, agreeing, “That’s true.
It’s hard to imagine having to wait so long to see your show get that kind of recognition.”
Before their on-stage reunion, Patrick and Gabriel, who portrayed Michael Ross and Harvey Spector respectively, were inevitably asked about Meghan Markle on the red carpet.
Patrick subtly hinted at the possibility of a spin-off, emphasizing the on-screen life of their characters in Seattle.
Although Adams admitted to not knowing where the next iteration of Suits would pick up story-wise, Mack described it as a separate world within the Suits universe.
He playfully speculated, “Who knows, maybe he’ll show up one day in Los Angeles,” referring to his co-star.
When questioned about Meghan Markle’s potential involvement in future Suits projects, Adams also teased the idea.
He suggested that Mike and Rachel, their characters, might travel to Los Angeles to resolve some issues.
Smith, the interviewer, mentioned Markle by name and expressed the need for her return to the series.
Adams added, “She’s pretty popular right now.”
In response, Mack humorously asked who they were talking about, to which Adams replied, “Did you hear about Meghan?
Ah, I’ll tell you later, there’s been a lot of stuff going on.”
Although Meghan Markle was not present during the Suits cast’s mini reunion at the Golden Globes, her absence was understandable.
Considering the heightened security requirements and her lack of nomination, it was logical for her not to attend.
However, Meghan did make an appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event in November, where she discussed the unexpected surge in Suits’ streaming success.
She expressed her surprise, saying, “Isn’t that wild?”
While she couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason for the renewed interest in the series, she speculated that its binge-worthy nature played a role.
Meghan acknowledged the show’s lasting appeal, stating, “But good shows are everlasting.”
As of now, Meghan Markle has not announced any new projects.
However, a source revealed to Us Weekly in December that new endeavors are on the horizon for her and Prince Harry.
Despite the perception of being snubbed by the entertainment industry, the couple sees it differently.
They prioritize quality over quantity and carefully select opportunities that align with their values.
