Prince Harry’s position in the line of succession to the British throne has raised concerns for royal expert Angela Levin.
Despite being fifth in line, the Duke of Sussex has been entangled in a longstanding feud with the royal household.
In a recent interview with Jacob Rees-Mogg on GB News, Levin expressed her worries about Harry’s reluctance to reconcile with his family and the potential consequences it may have on his future role.
Levin highlighted the possibility of Harry being compelled to resume his royal duties due to his place in the line of ascension.
“It worries me,” she said.
“He is fifth to the throne.
There are children before him, but King Charles is getting old, and if anything, God forbid, happens to William, we have got a terrible problem.”
Adding to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s woes, a new bill has been proposed that could jeopardize their royal titles.
Conservative MP Bob Seeley has suggested that the House of Commons consider the option of depriving the couple of their Duke and Duchess standing.
Seeley plans to present his Titles Deprivation 1917 Act amendment bill in the coming weeks, aiming to strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles.
In an article for the Mail on Sunday, Seeley clarified his intentions, stating, “I’m not a Republican and support the monarchy, but after the latest installment of the couple’s feud with the rest of the royal family, I believe that Parliament and the Privy Council should consider a nuclear option.
The Duke and Duchess can be Mr. and Mrs. like the rest of us.”
Seeley’s proposed bill would enable a parliamentary vote to advise the ancient Advisory Privy Council on stripping a member of the royal family of their titles.
His objective is simple: if someone no longer wishes to be part of the royal institution, they should not retain the titles and privileges associated with it, especially if they are tarnishing its reputation.
Meanwhile, a racism controversy within the royal establishment has resurfaced with the release of Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame.
Dutch copies of the book were removed from shelves in the Netherlands after it was discovered that two individuals had allegedly questioned the skin color of Harry and Meghan’s son.
Scobie, the author, emphasized that he had never included their names in the book.
As Prince Harry’s strained relationship with the royal household continues to make headlines, concerns about his future role in the monarchy persist.
With potential threats to their titles and ongoing controversies, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex find themselves navigating a complex and uncertain path.
