The new Princess of Wales, Kate, has shared a touching moment involving her youngest son, Prince Louis, and the news of Queen Elizabeth’s passing.
In a surprise appearance on the Long Walk in Windsor, Kate, along with Prince William, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, went to pay their respects and meet well-wishers who had left tributes at Windsor Castle.
Among the crowd was Bonita Ranno, 28, who had the chance to overhear Kate speaking to children nearby.
According to Ranno, Kate revealed that young Louis had expressed his thoughts on the Queen’s death, saying, “At least Granny is with Great-Grandpa now.”
The heartfelt remark from the four-year-old prince moved Kate to tears as she shared the story with the children standing beside her.
Prince Louis is one of the Queen and the late Prince Philip’s 12 great-grandchildren.
Just earlier this summer, he was photographed alongside his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the late monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
In a statement released by Prince William, he expressed how his three children had the opportunity to spend holidays with the Queen, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
This statement came as a surprise, as William, Harry, Kate, and Meghan set aside their differences and joined together to view the flowers and cards left by members of the public paying their respects to the Queen.
A royal source revealed that William personally invited his brother and sister-in-law to join him on this walkabout, considering their shared stay in Windsor.
This appearance also marked the first time William and Kate were seen together in public since the new King Charles bestowed upon them their new titles of Prince and Princess of Wales in his recent address to the nation.
Moreover, it was the first time the two couples had been seen together since the Commonwealth Day service in early 2020, which happened to be the Sussexes’ final engagement before their departure from the royal family.
Over the years, there have been numerous reports of a fallout between the brothers, with Meghan accusing Kate of making her cry during her Oprah Winfrey interview, and Harry commenting on his strained relationship with his brother.
Earlier today, Prince William attended the accession council, witnessing the official proclamation of his father, Charles, as the monarch in a poignant and somber ceremony.
Alongside the new Queen Consort, Camilla, and more than 200 privy councillors, including six former Prime Ministers, William observed as King Charles pledged himself to the tasks and responsibilities of sovereignty.
Meanwhile, at Balmoral, other members of the Queen’s family visited the Scottish Highlands estate where the monarch passed away.
Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall, Lady Louise Windsor, and Sophie Wessex, along with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Peter Phillips, Princess Anne, and her husband Sir Timothy Lawrence, took the time to view the tributes and greet well-wishers.
