The Queen showcased her radiant smile as she embraced a more casual look at the Royal Windsor Horse Show this morning.
Opting for a gilet, her Majesty took the wheel of her Range Rover and drove herself from Windsor Castle to the showground.
This event holds a special place in her heart and is considered one of her favorite royal engagements.
It came just a day after she warmly welcomed German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Windsor Castle.
The show featured a delightful display of horses and ponies, including some of the Queen’s own animals, competing in various classes.
As the ponies made their way onto the showground, the Queen couldn’t contain her laughter and beamed with joy.
At 95 years old, her Majesty exuded a relaxed aura, donning a white shirt paired with a navy padded gilet.
She added a pop of color with a vibrant green cardigan and cotton skirt.
Attending the Royal Windsor Horse Show has been a long-standing tradition for the monarch, dating back to her teenage years.
In fact, in 1943, as a young teenager, she won first prize at the event for driving a utility vehicle harness to her beloved Blackfell pony.
She triumphed again the following year, solidifying her connection with the show.
Last year, due to the global pandemic, the show was unfortunately canceled.
However, this year, it made a triumphant return, much to the delight of the Queen and her fans.
Social media was abuzz with photos of the monarch, showcasing her infectious smile.
One Twitter user expressed, “The Queen was seen once again at the Royal Windsor Horse Show today.
Looking very much in her element once again.”
Another fan added, “Her Majesty the Queen had so much fun at the Royal Windsor Horse Show today.”
The uplifting images brought joy to many, with one person noting, “These photographs of Her Majesty the Queen at the Royal Windsor Horse Show are precious.
Brought a smile to my face.”
Prior to attending the show, the Queen had a busy day hosting German Chancellor Angela Merkel for her final visit to the UK as Chancellor.
