The cast of the popular legal drama series, Suits, has reunited for an exciting new 30-second promotion set to air during the Super Bowl on February 11th.
The advertisement features Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty, who also star together in a new ELF cosmetics ad.
The makeup company gave fans a sneak peek of the commercial earlier this week, reigniting speculation about the show’s potential comeback, a rumor that has been circulating since September.
However, one notable absence from the ad was Meghan Markle.
The teaser clip showcases ELF delivering summons to some of the most beloved characters from Suits, as well as other notable personalities such as musician Meghan Trainor, RuPaul’s Drag Race star Heidi Closet, and former footballer Emmanuel Acho.
The advertisement begins with comedian Benito Skinner portraying an ELF intern named Cooper, who calls Meghan to inform her that she has been summoned.
It then proceeds to show the other stars engaging in various activities before being interrupted and handed a pink slip of paper, inviting them to appear in court.
The commercial concludes with an enigmatic message that reads, “See you in court, February 11th.”
Rick expressed his delight at working with his former co-stars again, describing it as the pinnacle of happiness.
Sarah likened the experience to coming home, emphasizing the special bond they share.
They mentioned that Patrick J Adams, who played a significant role in the series, couldn’t participate in the commercial due to his commitment to a film project in South Africa.
However, they made no mention of Meghan’s absence.
This exclusion of Meghan from the reunion and commercial has raised eyebrows and left many wondering why she wasn’t included.
Meghan had been a strong promoter of Suits and is often credited as the reason Netflix picked up the show, leading to its resurgence in popularity.
It’s understandable that some may interpret her exclusion as a significant snub.
Last summer, Suits unexpectedly became the most-streamed show in the US for 12 consecutive weeks after it was added to Netflix.
Gina expressed her surprise at the sudden spotlight on the series, describing it as both odd and wonderful.
She acknowledged that the industry had sometimes dismissed the show as “that cute cable show,” but the streaming success proved its enduring appeal.
In September, rumors of a potential Suits comeback were sparked by Patrick’s social media activity.
The actor, who portrayed Meghan’s love interest in the series, shared a series of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photos from his time on the show.
These intimate shots included several with Meghan, such as a black and white portrait capturing her looking directly at the camera with her hand resting against her lips.
Another photo depicted Meghan lying on the floor with her bare feet propped up on a cabinet, alongside her co-star Sarah.
Although Patrick captioned these posts with “I miss my friends,” he later deleted them, explaining that they were meant to divert attention from an ongoing actor’s strike.
At the time, many speculated that these posts hinted at a potential return of the hit series.
While the Super Bowl commercial has reignited excitement among fans, it remains to be seen whether Suits will indeed make a comeback.
The anticipation continues to grow as viewers eagerly await further updates and announcements from the cast and creators.
