In a lighthearted Christmas video, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has playfully poked fun at Prince Harry, causing a stir among some Brits on social media.
The video, filmed at Downing Street, shows Sunak alone in Number 10, meticulously writing letters.
However, realizing he is the only one present, the PM decides to inject some humor into the scene.
He mischievously knocks over a set of Coca-Cola cans while practicing his cricket bowling technique.
Later, Sunak affectionately interacts with Larry the Cat, even sharing a kiss with the feline, before putting the finishing touches on his Christmas tree.
Finally, the Prime Minister settles down to enjoy a plate of fish and chips while watching the film Elf.
Amidst the festive activities, Sunak’s attention is caught by the ringing phone in Downing Street’s press office as he lights a candle.
Promptly answering the call, he humorously informs the caller, “Harry, you’ve got the wrong number.”
Fans have speculated that this jest is a subtle reference to the Sussexes being excluded from the invite list for the Royal Christmas at Sandringham.
One social media user jokingly commented, “Even Rishi, the UK’s Prime Minister, roasts Prince Harry,” while another remarked, “Harry’s absolutely done when the PM feels comfortable making him the punchline of a joke with global reach.
Meghan would be a joke to pretend she’s royal.”
In the lead-up to Christmas, it was revealed that Prince Harry had reached out to King Charles in an attempt to mend strained relationships.
The hope was that this gesture would pave the way for both Harry and Meghan to be welcomed back for the holiday festivities.
This year’s Christmas gathering at Sandringham boasted one of the most extensive guest lists ever, with the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, receiving an invitation after more than three decades.
She was seen walking to St Mary Magdalene Church on the Norfolk estate, accompanied by her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
The South Park episode that portrayed Prince Harry as a laughingstock has left him deeply hurt, particularly after the recent dig from the Hollywood Reporter calling them “the biggest losers of 2023.”
The couple’s non-profit organization also allegedly experienced a significant drop in donations, with a decrease of $11 million in 2022 compared to the previous year’s close to $13 million.
However, the duo remains determined to dispute these figures and refuse to let the negativity deter their efforts, according to an insider.
To add to their woes, Meghan Markle was mentioned during a recent episode of Saturday Night Live.
A Christmas photo released by the Royal Family featured a poorly edited image where Prince Louis appeared to be missing a finger.
In response, Colin Jost humorously said, “This is sweet, Meghan Markle said she has a finger they can use if they need it,” as producers flashed an altered photo of Meghan seemingly flipping off the camera.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s playful Christmas video has sparked speculation and ignited a humorous roast aimed at Prince Harry.
