A Conservative Member of Parliament (MP), Bob Seeley, has suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should lose their royal status following the release of their Netflix documentary.

Seeley plans to introduce a private members’ bill to the House of Commons, which he believes could grant the Privy Council the authority to downgrade their titles.

The couple currently hold the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but they have expressed their intention to no longer actively use them.

Seeley argues that they should voluntarily relinquish their titles in light of the claims made in the documentary.

If they refuse, he claims that there are individuals working on legislation to make it happen.

The proposed bill would amend the 1917 Titles Deprivation Act, initially enacted to revoke titles from those who supported enemy nations during World War I.

The Sussexes have not yet responded to these developments.

This news comes after the first three episodes of Harry and Meghan’s tell-all Netflix documentary were released last Thursday.

In the documentary, the Duchess of Sussex accuses the media of wanting to destroy her, alleging that salacious stories were planted by the press.

Both Harry and Meghan claim that there is a significant level of unconscious bias within the royal family.

Meghan also recounts her initial encounter with Prince Charles and Princess Diana, expressing surprise at the formality and seclusion of the royal household.

She reveals that she was casually dressed in ripped jeans and barefoot, unaware that such informality would be considered jarring by many Britons.

In addition to the controversy surrounding the documentary, a dispute has arisen over the alleged lack of communication between the palace and the production team.

A senior palace source claims that Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, and members of the royal family were not approached for comment on the series’ content.

However, a Netflix representative insists that the communications offices for the King and Prince of Wales were contacted beforehand and given the opportunity to respond to Harry and Meghan’s claims.

The public’s opinion on whether Harry and Meghan should be stripped of their titles remains divided.
