Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have once again come under fire for their insensitive and opportunistic behavior.
This time, they have incurred the wrath of the U.S. Navy for crashing the opening ceremony of a fitness center for veterans in San Diego.
The Naval Medical Center San Diego boasts a state-of-the-art facility that offers physical therapy and rehabilitation services to wounded, ill, and injured service members.
On November 11, Veterans Day, the center held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Navy officials, veterans, and their families.
However, Meghan and Harry decided to make an uninvited and unannounced appearance, much to the dismay of the Navy.
Despite claiming that their presence was a show of support and appreciation for the veterans, the couple’s motives were perceived as a blatant attempt to hijack the event for their own publicity.
The Navy released a statement clarifying that the opening ceremony was a private and exclusive affair meant for the Navy community and the veterans who have directly benefited from the center’s services.
Meghan and Harry had neither received an invitation nor obtained authorization to attend the ceremony.
By disregarding the security protocols and social distancing measures in place, they disrespected the veterans and their families who were commemorating the occasion with utmost respect and dignity.
Consequently, the Navy has levied formal sanctions against the couple for their inappropriate behavior.
They have been requested to remove all images and videos related to the fitness center from their social media platforms and websites.
The Navy’s statement also called into question Meghan and Harry’s claim of honoring the veterans, given their failure to adhere to proper protocol and etiquette during the visit.
Notably, they neglected to wear masks, which are mandatory for entry into the fitness center.
Furthermore, they refrained from engaging with any veterans or staff members, opting instead to pose for photos and videos with the fitness equipment and the center’s plaque.
These actions clearly demonstrated their motivation to garner attention and sympathy from the public, rather than genuinely expressing gratitude and respect for the veterans.
