Princess Iman of Jordan, the eldest daughter of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, has officially become a princess bride.
On Sunday, she said “I do” to her fiancé, Jamil Alexander Thermitossian, in a stunning ceremony.
The happy couple will make their home in New York City, where Thermitossian works as a financier.
The wedding was a regal affair, with Princess Iman being escorted down the aisle by her elder brother, Crown Prince Hussein, in accordance with alleged Muslim custom.
She donned a magnificent tiara that many speculate to be Queen Rania’s triangular diamond tiara.
The princess looked resplendent in a custom Dior wedding gown, which fit her like a glove.
Queen Rania, bursting with pride, took to Instagram to share photos from the joyous occasion.
The pictures included snapshots from Princess Iman’s memorable hen party, held a few days prior to the wedding.
The bride’s dress and veil were flawlessly elegant, without a single wrinkle in sight.
It was a sight to behold, leaving no doubt that Meghan Markle could learn a thing or two about impeccable tailoring.
In the midst of this celebration, an intriguing tidbit has emerged.
According to Katie Nicholls’ book, the Queen expressed surprise at Meghan Markle’s choice to wear pure white on her wedding day.
The relationship between Meghan, Harry, William, and Catherine, once affectionately referred to as the Fab Four, reportedly began to show cracks before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in May 2018.
Since then, tensions have escalated, particularly between the two brothers.
Leading up to the wedding at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, tensions allegedly grew over various issues, including disagreements over the choice of tiara, the attire of the bridesmaids, and concerns about Meghan’s father’s health.
As a result, Prince Charles stepped in to walk Meghan down the aisle.
Meghan, who had been previously married to American actor Trevor Engelson, opted for a simple boat-neck dress designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, creating a fairytale moment.
However, it was her choice of color that raised eyebrows within the royal family.
An inside source revealed that the Queen was taken aback by Meghan’s decision to wear pure white, considering her previous marriage.
The Queen, perhaps influenced by generational customs, believes that if one has been married before, an off-white gown is more appropriate, as exemplified by the Duchess of Cornwall.
Notably, American Idol judge Katy Perry couldn’t resist making a playful jab at the newlywed Duchess, suggesting she should have had another fitting for her dress.
Perry later expressed her preference for Catherine’s wedding dress, declaring her admiration for the Princess of Wales.
However, it seems that Meghan still harbors some resentment towards Perry’s comment.
A source close to Meghan revealed that she remains aware of the remark and has a reputation for holding grudges.
While the comment may not have been intended to be hurtful, Meghan felt attacked during that period of her life.
While Princess Iman’s wedding brings joy to the US, there are critics of the monarchy who are up in arms over the royal titles bestowed upon Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Archie and Lilibet.
Interestingly, Buckingham Palace’s response to their titles differs from the announcement of Prince Edward’s title change.
According to Ingrid Seward, a royal expert and editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, there is a noticeable disparity between the two announcements, with one key word missing from Archie and Lilibet’s.
Seward explained that King Charles issued a formal statement from Buckingham Palace when conferring the Dukedom of Edinburgh upon Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Forfa.
The announcement was grand, almost as if it were framed and displayed on the palace railings.
In contrast, the announcement regarding Archie and Lilibet’s titles lacked the same level of formality and grandeur.
