In a recent turn of events, the question arises as to whether King Charles III will revoke the titles bestowed upon Archon Lilibet.
Following the passing of the Queen, it was widely reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children would become Prince and Princess.
And now, six months later, Buckingham Palace has officially updated their website, replacing the previous Master and Miss references with the titles of Prince and Princess.
According to royal tradition, the grandchildren of a monarch automatically inherit the titles of Prince and Princess.
With Charles now assuming the role of King over the Commonwealth and 14 other realms, Archon Lilibet became entitled to these titles from September 8th, 2022.
However, it wasn’t until Lilibet’s christening on March 3rd, 2023, that her official use of the title of Princess was confirmed by her parents.
The intimate ceremony, conducted by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, Reverend John Taylor, took place with an estimated 20 to 30 guests in attendance.
Among them were Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry.
It was only after the christening that Buckingham Palace updated their website, following the release of details by Harry and Meghan.
Before the official decision regarding the titles in March 2023, it is reported that King Charles III was observing how Harry and Meghan handled the initial months of his reign.
Only then did he bestow the titles of Prince and Princess upon their children.
An inside source clarified that Charles’ love for Harry is unconditional, and any decision regarding Archon Lilibet’s titles is not intended as a slight against his son.
In early April, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry would attend his father’s coronation alone, while Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, would remain in California.
However, Meghan has been warned that her decision to keep the children away from the coronation could lead to resentment in the future.
Royal expert Tom Quinn suggests that Archie and Lilibet may wonder why they were absent from such significant royal events.
Quinn believes that Meghan’s choice may be one of her biggest mistakes.
He argues that the children may feel excluded from the glamorous world they could have been a part of.
Looking back, they may question why Meghan did not bring them along, as it could have been a marvellous experience.
The expert emphasizes the importance of Meghan being cautious, especially as the children grow older, and urges her to consider bringing them to see King Charles and be more involved in the royal family.
Failure to do so may result in resentment later on.
On the other hand, some believe that even if Harry and Meghan were still working royals, the children would never have been allowed to attend.
It is suggested that Meghan would not permit their international travel due to various legal requirements, such as valid birth certificates and notarized permission from both parents.
Allowing the children to visit the UK would potentially compromise her leverage if Harry were to refuse permission for them to return to the US.
The fate of Archon Lilibet’s titles remains uncertain.
As the world watches, it is yet to be seen whether King Charles III will revoke these titles or allow them to stand.
The decision will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the relationship between the royal family and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
