The British royal family finds itself on shaky ground as Prince Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, reveals intimate details of the palace’s inner workings.
This raises the question of whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will lose their royal titles after stepping back as senior members of the monarchy in 2020.
The tension only grows as Harry shares personal information, including losing his virginity, drug use, and killing 25 Taliban fighters.
He has also disclosed private conversations with his family and a deepening rift over Megxit during explosive interviews in the US and UK.
However, Harry faces significant backlash for his scathing comments about his brother, Prince William, whom he accused of assaulting him during a heated argument.
He also branded his stepmother, Queen Consort Camilla, a villain in an extraordinary TV interview with CBS.
To add insult to injury, Harry was mercilessly mocked by Stephen Colbert, the host of America’s Late Show, in a promo for the Duke’s interview on the program.
These comments and media campaigns have outraged fans, leading them to demand action to strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles.
According to a poll conducted by Redfield and Wilton for Newsweek, almost half of US voters believe Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be stripped of their royal roles.
Out of 2,000 respondents, 45% were in favor of removing their titles, while only 26% opposed the idea.
The remaining 28% were unsure.
These results mark a significant shift compared to a poll conducted on December 5th, where the majority (43%) of respondents were against taking away Harry’s dukedom.
At that time, only 27% believed the Sussexes should be stripped of their titles.
In recent weeks, the Duke and Duchess have made numerous blistering claims and criticisms against the royal family.
They released a six-episode docuseries on Netflix, focusing on their love story, their strained relationship with the press, and the challenges they faced within the institution.
The series included allegations of briefing against them by royal offices.
Furthermore, Prince Harry provided glimpses of his deteriorating relationship with Prince William.
Adding fuel to the fire, Prince Harry published a tell-all memoir on January 10th, titled “Spare.”
The 416-page book delves deeper into his rift with his family and shares intimate memories.
To promote the memoir, Harry participated in several interviews with print and broadcast journalists, discussing the allegations he made, including Queen Camilla’s alleged involvement in trading stories with the press to improve her image.
Despite these revelations, there is no indication that King Charles intends to strip his son of the title bestowed upon him by the late queen as a wedding present.
Stripping the royals of their dukedom would require an act of parliament.
As of now, neither Kensington nor Buckingham Palace have commented on the claims made by the Sussexes in recent weeks.
The question remains: should King Charles take immediate action and strip Harry and Meghan of their titles before they potentially unleash another bombshell on the royal family?
