After a challenging period following the passing of Prince Philip, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, took the opportunity to spend quality time together over the weekend.
The family was spotted happily playing at the newly revamped Sandringham Play Park, located on the Queen’s Norfolk Estate, making the most of the sunny weather.
The Sandringham Play Park holds a special significance for 39-year-old Kate.
Inspired by her back-to-nature garden at the 2019 Chelsea Flower Show, the park underwent a major transformation.
It now features exciting additions such as a rope swing, a teepee hideaway, a 14-meter long tube slide, and a treehouse.
Designed with the Duchess’ philosophy in mind, which encourages children to connect with nature, the park proved to be a hit with her own children, as they joyfully played alongside each other.
This outing also served as a delightful conclusion to George and Charlotte’s first week back at school after the Easter holidays.
It was an extra treat for young Louis, who recently started nursery and celebrated his third birthday on Friday.
Currently residing in their primary home at Kensington Palace, the Cambridge family has chosen this location to be near Thomas’s Battersea and Wilcox Nursery, both of which are conveniently situated nearby.
Although Sandringham is a two-and-a-half-hour drive from London, the family’s close connection to the play park made it an appealing destination.
In fact, they were likely among the first visitors, as the play area officially opened on April 23, and William, Kate, and their children were spotted there just two days later.
This week holds special significance for the Duke and Duchess as they celebrate their milestone 10th wedding anniversary on April 29.
Their wedding took place in 2011 at Westminster Abbey, with Prince Harry serving as William’s best man and Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, as the Maid of Honour.
