The Competitive Side of Prince William and Princess Kate’s marriage has been revealed by Zara Tindall, the cousin of the Duke of Cambridge.
In a rare glimpse into their relationship, Zara and her husband Mike Tindall shared their similarities with the royal couple.
During an appearance on Mike’s podcast, The Good, The Bad, and The Rugby, Princess Kate disclosed that she and William enjoy competing against each other on the tennis court.
Mike has now confirmed that this competitiveness is a significant aspect of their 12-year marriage.
In an exclusive interview with Women’s Weekly, he stated, “Ultimately, we’re two sports people, so if we’re playing table tennis, neither of us wants to lose.
It’s the same with board games.
I thought that was a great sight to see of the Princess of Wales, they’re the same as us.”
Zara and Mike, like Kate and William, have three children: nine-year-old Mia, five-year-old Lena, and two-year-old Lucas.
The Tindalls mentioned that their children also display a competitive streak, just like their royal counterparts.
The couple revealed that their kids get along well with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Mike shared, “Our kids play with their kids in this competition we have.”
Zara agreed with Mike, emphasizing that healthy competition drives individuals to improve.
She expressed, “It drives people to get better, for sports people it drives you to train, it drives you to push as hard as you can.
You need that?
I think our families are fairly competitive.
We’re very much involved in sports.
It’s definitely been handed down.”
When discussing their eldest daughter, Mia, Mike humorously revealed that she dislikes losing.
Zara added that their youngest daughter, Lena, shares the same sentiment.
Laughing, she remarked, “Then Lucas is going to be even worse because he’s going to be trying to catch them up all the time.
It’s definitely in there.”
While all the children share a close bond, Princess Charlotte has a particularly strong connection with Zara and Mike’s daughters.
Mike previously hinted at their friendship, stating, “Lena and obviously Louis are similar ages and Mia’s sort of in between Charlotte and George, and then you’ve got Peter’s children Savannah and Isla who are just a little bit older.
James, Prince Edward’s son, is, well not exactly the ringleader, but he’s the oldest.
So, yeah, it’s going to be a good little group.”
The insight provided by Zara and Mike Tindall sheds light on the competitive nature that exists within the marriage of Prince William and Princess Kate.
Their shared love for sports and friendly rivalry adds an interesting dynamic to their relationship.
