The dreams of Meghan Markle to establish herself in Hollywood have come crashing down as her documentary with Prince Harry fails to secure a single Emmy nomination.
Despite high expectations and projections of winning the documentary category, it seems that the entertainment industry has little interest in the endeavors of the Sussexes.
Not only have Harry and Meghan lost their lucrative Spotify deal, but they were also excluded from the exclusive guest list for the Obama’s 60th birthday party, which boasted the presence of numerous prominent figures and celebrities.
Furthermore, the couple did not receive an invitation to attend the prestigious Met Gala.
Even Archie’s fourth birthday party was met with snubs from A-list celebrities, including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who declined Meghan’s invitation.
In another blow, pop superstar Taylor Swift rejected the opportunity to be part of the couple’s now-abandoned podcast, despite receiving a personal letter from the Duchess herself.
This rejection, along with the absence of the Sussexes from recent events, has led royal commentator Hilary Fordwich to claim that the social elite in Washington and Hollywood are distancing themselves from Harry and Meghan.
Fordwich laments that the couple had the chance to promote diversity within the royal family and strengthen the US-UK relationship, but they squandered it by denigrating the royal family.
With their once-glamorous careers now on the rocks, the question arises: who remains in the corner of Team Sussex?
It appears that there is a conspicuous absence of famous or influential voices coming to their defense.
Even close friends like Gayle King, who has spoken about the couple on Breakfast TV, have not publicly pushed back against negative characterizations of them.
Notable figures such as Oprah Winfrey, James Corden, and podcaster Dax Shepard, who have conducted headline-making interviews with the Duke and Duchess, have also refrained from defending them.
The support from Beyonce, who publicly expressed her admiration for Meghan on her website after the Sussexes’ Oprah interview in 2021, seems to have waned.
In the couple’s Netflix series, Meghan is shown receiving a text message from the superstar, but it remains unclear if Beyonce still views the Duchess as inspiring and courageous.
On the other hand, The Telegraph’s Camilla Tomini paints a bleak picture of Harry’s relationship with his British friends.
Many of them claim to have been ignored after the Duke’s wedding, and even his most loyal supporters are growing weary of his consistent negativity.
It seems that Harry rarely shows interest in others and is often seen complaining.
The question arises: when was the last time they were seen with any of their old companions?
Take, for example, Priyanka Chopra, who was reported to have become close to Meghan after meeting at a Women in TV’s event and attending the royal wedding as a guest.
In an interview with the Times, Chopra defended the Duchess, stating that she could handle the press intrusion and that her current persona is authentic.
However, it has been years since they were last seen together, leaving their friendship in doubt.
As Harry and Meghan’s Hollywood ambitions crumble and their relationships with both American and British elites deteriorate, they find themselves increasingly isolated.
The once-promising future they envisioned now appears uncertain, and the support they once enjoyed from the entertainment industry has all but vanished.
